Airport have had to resort to installing speed bumps inside baggage galleries to reduce accidents and excessive speeding by baggage tractor operators. This solution does reduce the target problems, but it has side effects including slower pickup and delivery of bags, and more stress on baggage tractors and towed bag carts from the bumps and speeding between bumps. In particular, in a specific French airport, had an ongoing issue with accidents inside their baggage gallery caused by excessive baggage tractor speed. This caused airport management to install speed bumps. Although this did reduce accidents, the GSE handlers were not happy because the speed bumps where causing more maintenance on baggage tractors and carts, bags were occasionally falling off the carts, and bag pickup and delivery times increased. Ultimately, neither GSE handlers/operators nor airport management were happy with this solution.

ADVEEZ Turtle Mode System comprises a radio frequency receiver module that is installed on electric baggage tractors and corresponding radio transmitters installed on the entrances and exits of the baggage gallery. When the receiver module detects the baggage gallery entrance signal it automatically activates the baggage tractor's motor controller's "Turtle Mode" immediately slowing dow the tractor. When the tractor leaves the gallery, it detects the exit signal and activates the tractor's normal speed mode.
At Marseille Airport, Airport management and GSE Handling companies came together and agreed to install the ADVEEZ Turtle Mode System as it addressed both parties' concerns. Airport management removed the speed bumps and handlers had automatic speed control that was both easy to install and cost effective.
